Meet Our Coaching Team

Experienced Coaches. Supportive Instruction. One Team.

Growth Mindset Collective is led by a diverse team of instructors with experience in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Muay Thai, Karate, MMA, youth coaching, and martial arts education.

Each coach brings a different background and teaching style to the academy, but we all share the same goal: to provide clear instruction, meaningful challenges, and a welcoming environment where every student can continue to grow.

Coach Mark

Owner and Head Jiu Jitsu Coach

Coach Mark is the owner and Head Jiu Jitsu Coach at Growth Mindset Collective. He began training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2006 and has spent nearly two decades studying, teaching, competing, and helping students develop their skills.

As the academy’s lead instructor, Coach Mark oversees the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu curriculum and teaches students ranging from young beginners to experienced adult practitioners. His coaching emphasizes strong fundamentals, technical understanding, practical application, and long-term development.

Coach Mark believes students learn best when they understand not only how a technique works, but why it works. His goal is to help each student become a thoughtful, confident, and capable martial artist.

Our Approach to Coaching

Clear, Structured Instruction

Techniques are broken into manageable steps so students understand what they are learning and can practice with purpose.

Strong Fundamentals

We focus on developing a dependable foundation before rushing students into more complicated techniques.

Support for Beginners

You do not need previous martial arts or athletic experience to begin. Our coaches will help you learn the terminology, movements, and expectations of class.

Safe, Responsible Training

Students are taught to practice with control, respect their partners, communicate clearly, and use techniques responsibly.

Long-Term Growth

Progress looks different for every student. Our coaches encourage consistent effort, patience, and a willingness to learn through challenges.
